The Bad Cop and DarrylW4 gab without any guest for the forty-third beta show, the sixth Randomized edition. They started with a topic submitted by Brightblades about finding containers in good hiding spots. During a conversation about Siri's odd pronunciation of "Geocaching" they talked about The Travel Bugs and their song "To Whom It May Concern." They talked about using QR Codes to simplify logging of trackables and caches. Of course the new iPad mini was discussed as a geocaching tool. As were reports by Android Central on 32GB 3G Nexus 7 pricing, the Verge on the manual for the unannounced Nexus 10, and SKUs for the unannounced Nexus 4. They also talked about the release of the Microsoft Surface and its possibility of being used for geocaching. |

We're joined by jeepin_idaho of the 4x4 Podcast to talk about gear for Geocachers and their Off-Highway Vehicles. Technology journalist Andy Ihnatko (of the Chicago Sun-Times, TWIT, and The Ihnatko Almanac) joins The Bad Cop and DarrylW4 for a discussion about recovering electronic devices after getting wet. Andy tested several technique in his article "Salvage Techniques for Wet Electronics" including use of Fresh Step Crystals and the specialize The Dry & Store device. In that discussion we mentioned comments on Google+ by Adorfer about recovering his gear dunked while "...walking in high waders inside a former factory for aggricultural fertilizers in the basement of the sulfur storage...." |
